The X-62A has flown its first AI dogfight

The U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School (USAF TPS) and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) have achieved a significant milestone in the field of aerospace machine learning. Their collaborative Air Combat Evolution (ACE) program successfully demonstrated autonomous dogfighting maneuvers using an AI-powered system onboard a modified F-16 aircraft, the X-62A VISTA.

Honoring Mustang 22

The Nevada Army Guard is adding a permanent tribute to the crew of Mustang 22, a Chinook helicopter shot down in Afghanistan in 2005. A CH-47 Chinook helicopter, permanently grounded due to bullet hole damage, will be placed as a static display at the Mustang 22 Memorial located at the Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF) in Reno, Nevada.

Portuguese F-16s conduct first intercept during current Baltic Air Policing deployment

On Apr. 15th, Portuguese F-16 fighter jets assigned to NATO’s Baltic Air Policing mission conducted their first intercept mission of the current deployment. The scramble, initiated by the Combined Air Operations Centre at Uedem, Germany, marked the first time the Portuguese detachment launched jets for an air interception during their seventh rotation at Šiauliai Air Base, Lithuania.

Exercise Agile Reaper 24-1 is taking place in Tinian

The skies above the remote Pacific island of Tinian recently witnessed a resurgence of American airpower. Once home to the B-29 Superfortresses that helped end World War II, Tinian served as a key location for Exercise Agile Reaper 24-1 (AR 24-1), showcasing the U.S. Air Force’s next generation of power projection capabilities.
